The Gran Paradiso park is one of the most fascinating destinations in all the Alps, famous for its breathtaking peaks, its intact and uncontaminated natural landscapes, and its rich and varied wild fauna and flora.
Although the park is mainly developed in high mountain areas (above 1500m above sea level), there are many summer itineraries to follow by e-bike, which will allow you to reach 3000m pedaling in a unique environment and descending on fun paths for over 1000m of altitude difference!
This 1-day proposal starts from Ceresole Reale, and will allow you to discover these magnificent and isolated places riding an e-bike (included in the package), via a circular tour which, if done on foot, would take several days.
Starting from Ceresole Reale we will climb on asphalt towards Colle del Nivolet (some sections can be avoided by taking the old royal road), following the route of the 2019 Giro d’Italia stage. We will arrive up to Lake Serru’ and then to Lake Agnel, where photo stops will be obligatory given the grandiose wealth that develops before our eyes. We continue on asphalt almost up to the Nivolet pass, and at around 2450m altitude we will leave the road to begin our adventure in the true wild side of the park.
Along glacial lakes we cycle gently down to the Colle della Terra (2911m), where the slopes increase, forcing us to do some portage stretches.
Once we reach Colle della Terra, an incredible view of Lake Lillet satisfies our eyes, and from here we begin the first technical descent section that takes us to the shore of this beautiful and hidden natural basin.
We continue to go up a mule track with some non-cyclable sections, until we reach Colle della Porta (3001m). We are now at almost 3000m, the southern face of the Gran Etret greets us imposingly, and in front of us the Roc valley opens up to view, among the most isolated and uncontaminated of all the Alps, surrounded on the right by the imposing Mount Courmaoun, where high level mountaineering routes were discovered and climbed by Gervasutti at the beginning of the century.
Now begins a descent of 800m of negative altitude difference, which among mule tracks, snowfields and single tracks will put even the most expert biker to the test.
We could cross snowfields depending on the snowfall, cycle through prairies dotted with lakes and photograph waterfalls that drop sheer from vertical walls, in a corner of Paradise where ibex and chamois graze and run in total peace.
With a final short climb we are at Colle Sia’, the last hill of our tour, and now the most beautiful and smooth descent of the day awaits us, which in a short time takes us back to Ceresole Reale, closing our ring of Paradise.
Throughout the trip you will be accompanied by local guides (who speak fluent English), but if you prefer the tour is also available in self-guide mode.
Suitable for very trained bikers, accustomed to portage and with high technical skills.
Uphill cycling is approximately 60%, 90% downhill. The maximum technical level is OC / S3.
