Ready for a unique experience among the wildest peaks of the Italian Alps? Join us for a two-day alpine climb to Becco Meridionale della Tribolazione, a 3360m high granite tower, via a classic TRAD route.
The Piantonetto valley, in the heart of the Gran Paradiso park, has a mountaineering history that dates back to the beginning of the century, and boasts several peaks up to 3600m high characterized by vertical granite walls, which are perfectly prepared for a climb trad.
It is the most interesting valley in the park in terms of rock climbing, and its sharp granite towers, characterized by dihedrals and cracks, are easily comparable to the satellites of Mont Blanc such as the Gran Capucin.
Mountains such as the Becco di Valsoera, the Becchi della Tribolazione and the Gran San Pietro are a secret dream for generations of mountaineers, and the history of Piedmontese climbing has been written on these walls.
In this valley we find some of the most beautiful routes in all of the Alps, i.e. climbs that go beyond times and fashions, forming part of the experience and life of almost all mountaineers.
There are many national and international climbers who over the decades have left their signature on these difficult vertical walls, in a majestic and wild environment that makes these climbs even more fascinating and adventurous.
On the first day in the morning we will meet the guide in Locana and we will head by car towards the Piantonetto dam, from which we will begin our walk towards the Pontese refuge (2200m, about 45 minutes).
Here we will have the opportunity to practice on one of the nearby crags to familiarize ourselves with trad climbing techniques and prepare for the next day's big climb.
On the second day, ready to face a remote area, we will walk for about 3 hours to reach the starting point of our climb. Here a 6-pitch climb awaits us on magnificent red granite for 250m, characterized by cracks, dihedrals, slabs, and the best granite can offer. In about 6 hours we will be at the top.
The descent can take place along the normal route or via one of the ascent lines. After a refreshing lunch at the Pontese refuge, we will continue on foot to the Piantonetto dam and then by car to Locana.
You will be accompanied by certified mountain guides with fluent English. This tour is suitable for climbers with good rock experience (5C/6A).
But the possibilities don't end there! You can customize the package to your liking based on your days of availability and your preferences. You can add or remove services according to your needs.
Do not miss the opportunity to live an unforgettable experience among the peaks of the Italian Alps!
